A journey filled with weariness, which occurs traveling from one appointment to the next at numerous locations in different parts of town, the state and beyond.
Hall-Perrine Cancer Center is leading the way toward a shift in care that is integrated, timely, and coordinated around the patients' and families' needs. Working together, teams of specialists, located in one place at one time provide a simple comprehensive care plan.
Upon diagnosis, an oncology nurse navigator will contact you to answer any questions you have, discuss your treatment plan as outlined by your physicians and help guide you through the many services available to you at the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center.
Detection, Diagnosis and Beyond
Each cancer diagnosis includes special circumstances and unique needs. In order to detect and treat cancer appropriately, you can expect certain types of services including:
- Diagnostic testing is a procedure that can be done to detect or diagnosis the presence of cancer.
- Treatment which comes in many forms, depending on the type of cancer. Treatment may include radiation, chemotherapy, surgery and beyond.
- Counseling may be offered in areas such as nutrition, for education on how to fuel your body's changing needs, as well as counseling to address the emotional toll cancer brings to some families.
- Survivorship, including support groups and Thrive Cancer Fitness & Wellness.
